To be quite honest, when I first purchased my Tassimo I really wasn't thinking too much about making espresso. Once I realized how versatile espresso was and that all of my favorite drinks were espresso based, it really changed my mind.
I really like the flavor of the Gevalia Espresso. It's bold but not burnt or overpowering like espressos I've had in coffee shops and restaurants.
At this point, I'm pretty much making my own custom mochas, lattes and flavored cappuccinos using a combination of these discs, creamer discs, some gourmet syrups, chocolate, etc... My creativity makes up for the lack of Tassimo flavors and a lot of what I've made can be prepared very quickly, with minimal fuss/mess and still at a huge savings over the coffee houses.
I'd consider this variety of t-disc to be a staple in my kitchen now - along with MH Caramel Macchiato, Gevalia Mocha and Gevalia Swiss Hazelnut. If you haven't tried it yet, pick up a package :)
Yes, I recommend this product.

This disc brews a small cup size (6 ounces, I believe), but Mastro Lorenzo doesn't hold back on the flavor - it is definitely bold. I'm not sure what another reviewer meant when they said that it was bitter. It most definitely is not bitter, but if you're not used to a bold coffee you might mistake the strength of the flavor for bitterness.
There is plenty of froth here, plus I tend to like my coffee very hot and this is one of the hotter brews that comes out of the Tassimo. This is the second Tassimo Crema I've tried and have enjoyed them both.
Yes, I recommend this product.

A great chef (Alton Brown) once said that bitter coffee is created by brewing not enough grounds with too much water. I'm thinking that might be the case with this blend. I rarely dislike a coffee so much that I can barely finish my cup, which is what happened here. The large cup size made it so much worse.
I literally added enough half & half and sugar that my large travel mug was overflowing. Even then, I could still taste the bitterness through the huge amount of cream in the drink.
This definitely isn't for me. If you're on the fence between this variety and the Gevalia Morning Roast, I'd try the Gevalia first.
No, I do not recommend this product.

With reviews all over the board for this variety of T-disc, I was a little reluctant to make this my first experience with a crema, but since I had won a huge bag of these discs off of ebay figured I'd give it a chance. The discs that I have are fairly old (i.e. expired), so I had even lower expectations of them.
Fortunately, my fears were unfounded. The Gevalia Signature Crema is very smooth, aromatic and has a nice flavor to it - right in line with a medium roast. I also love the foam on top. I did wind up adding steamed half and half and a shot of Torani caramel syrup to it, just for kicks.
This made a nice "reading the news after work" drink.
It's neither watery nor burnt like some of the other reviews suggest. This could be in part due to the difference in batches with my old discs compared to newer ones - not sure.
I'll definitely buy more of these when I run out.
Yes, I recommend this product.

For my first brew of this, I had it straight - added nothing to it and thought it was delicious. It had a nice caramel aroma, the flavor was subtle and smooth. I liked it enough that I bought out all the remaining stock at my local grocery store.
I've done some tweaks on subsequent brews to it to make it perfect for my taste. I add a tablespoon of dessert caramel and a tablespoon of caramel flavored creamer to my mug, microwave the mug for about 30 seconds, then put the mug under my Tassimo spout and proceed to brew the Latte disc, then the espresso disc. Then I top it with a nice pile of whipped cream.
This surpasses anything I've ever had at a coffee house and the price is an added bonus.
Yes, I recommend this product.

A special gift to the 2nd Earl Grey, this aromatic tea was so popular at parties that Twining's® received special permission to sell it; now, your TASSIMO® machine brews a cup to perfection. Quintessentially British and flavored with hints of bergamot oil, Earl Grey Tea has been enjoyed for nearly two centuries.

I like to have a cup of tea several times a week and generally like black tea. Unfortunately, this option is not available for U.S. Tassimo owners since Tazo went away. I was hoping that the Earl Grey might be a nice change of pace. The aroma was nice, but once I took that first sip, I knew that the Bergamot flavor was a bit more than I could handle. I then added some honey, in hopes that would tone it down a bit, but to no avail. I took one more sip then dumped it out.
Not to say that it's bad, but the flavor isn't for me. So I guess I still need to keep my teapot handy.
Hey Tassimo, please make the Orange Pekoe that is available in Canada, also available to U.S. consumers. Thanks!

Not a Mocha
By AnJ15 from Troy, MI
I was very excited when Tassimo finally got a mocha. Unfortunately this isn't one. This is actually half hot chocolate and half coffee. Not anything like what I hoped or expected. No one will touch it so the entire box is going into the trash, what a waste!

Were you thinking it was the mocha variety of coffee beans? Also, your description of the drink is pretty inaccurate. This is hot chocolate with a shot of espresso (not half coffee). It's pretty much like other mochas I've had (other than white chocolate mochas - yum). Not sure what you were expecting, but this is a really good drink. I hope most people take your review with a grain of salt.

You probably should go with a bold, not a medium roast if you're looking for a replacement for Starbucks.

Bold espresso provides a solid foundation for a delectable blend of caramel flavor and milk creamer, creating the Gevalia Caramel Latte Macchiato. Prepared to perfection each and every time, this sweet sensation is as easy to make as it is delicious.

Why doesn't the package state that this contains sucralose?

I just purchased a package of this product from a local store and there is no indication from the ingredients list that this contains sucralose. It states: Milk, water, arabica coffee, cream, sugar, salt, sodium phosphate, artificial and natural flavor. Why doesn't it state that sucralose is in the product? I wouldn't have purchased it had I known and can't return it now that it is opened. Also, why isn't called something like Diet Macchiato if there is artificial sweetener in there to make it more obvious to the consumer?

When will you offer a green tea? With all the antioxidants this is what people want today.

I've seen and purchased Tassimo Green Tea by Twinings on ebay and Amazon. You may want to look there.

Varieties

I recently purchased a Tassimo and I am wondering if Tassimo is working on any new varieties?? Also, is there a push to get a greater variety available in stores? How about iced tea drinks? I am really rooting for tassimo but have been very disappointed by how hard it is to get the tdiscs and by how small the variety is. I know Tassimo has great potential just worried that we'll all be let down!
I can't speak from the Tassimo business side of things, but as a consumer and a huge fan of the brewer so far, I agree with you 100% about the limited availability of products.

I've personally been getting a little creative with the discs and coffee acoutrements that I can buy. If you look at Tassimo's selection on the European market, they seem to have 2 - 3 times the choice of what we can buy here in the States, which lead me to buying some Tassimo samplers from coffee shops in the UK which will ship to me inexpensively. This may be a bit too much work for some people, but to me it's worth it.

I've also purchased some flavored syrups from a US company called Amoretti, which are quite amazing. Adding just a squirt of the syrup to a plain Maxwell House or Gevalia Latte can give you a wonderfully flavored drink like Gingerbread, Tiramisu or English Toffee.

Lastly, I mix and match my discs. Sometimes I'll run an Espresso disc into a mug of Hot Chocolate. Or Hot Chocolate with Latte creamer. Or Crema with Latte Creamer and a shot of flavored syrup.

I know some people will say the extra effort defeats the purpose of buying a Tassimo. I disagree. At this point, I consider myself and "Express Barista". I can have a wonderful tasting original beverage in under 3 minutes (all while I'm cooking my breakfast on the side), without a lot of clean-up or fuss.

But hopefully, Tassimo will be making more varieties for us soon and hopefully the shortages will also be a thing of the past in the near future too :)

Cheers!

Backorder

Can you provide any info as to either of my two questions? I'd like to know what is causing the lack of availability. Have they found out something about the product that we should all know?

Secondly, I have been waiting a month for my order for this item to fill, and to date I have no estimate of the time frame for shipment. Any guidance? This one product was the reason I purchased the brewer, and now I can't get the product.
As one of the other answers stated, definitely try Bed Bath and Beyond. I was just at my local BBB today and they had tons of this flavor - which I bought half of!

I don't work for this company, but have worked in manufacturing for many years and there are generally two reasons for lack of availability for a product - problems with suppliers or equipment issues. The manufacturer may only have one or two machines that run the T-discs and if that machine is down for any reason, you're going to have a product shortage. The same goes for the people who supply the chocolate syrup or the coffee grounds or the printed foil or the injection molded discs - any issues with one component that goes into making this product and you will not be able run.

Hopefully this product won't be on back order for long because it is very delicious!
